It is time yet again for the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers (IPCPR) Trade Show. This year we are being hosted by the City of New Orleans. Interesting thing is that just after it was announced that the show would be held in the Big Easy, the city decided to enact a city-wide smoking ban in just about every place imaginable. Dinners and evening parties should be interesting to say the least.
Of course I am not going to let any city ordinances get in the way of finding some great new products for our guests at ABC. You can follow along each day as we will be posting live blogs after each day. If you follow me on Twitter (@abccigarChris) and Periscope then you will also get some real time reports, photos, and video from cigar central.
The most exciting part about IPCPR isn’t all of the cigars-though that part is pretty cool-but it’s about the people. The cigar industry is full of great people and it is nice to be able to spend some time with them all. It’s the only time of year I get to see everyone in such a short time span.
Another perk of visiting the show is getting a first look at all the new releases. There are so many products that are unveiled here that it is hard to keep up. We will definitely be selecting some of these new products for our humidors. If you want to keep up to speed make sure you follow along with @abccigarmungo and myself for daily updates.
As I am typing this we are in transit. Friday is a travel and registration day for us and the festivities officially kick off on Saturday. As you are reading this I am already two cafe negras and a few cigars into my morning. It is tough to smoke all of these sticks but someone has to do it. Check back here tomorrow for the first day recap.
