IPCPR Day Three

blog33Our third day at the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers Trade Show was a little less hectic than the first two days. We didn’t have as many meetings so we were able to spend more time with some of the larger cigar companies.

We visited with JC Newman, Quesada, Altadis, EPC, and General Cigar.

All of you beer fans will be happy to know that we picked up the new Quesada Oktoberfest Nicaragua. If the Dominican version didn’t have enough kick for you then the Nicaragua will be right in your wheelhouse.

blog22It was also nice to see a lot of changes with many of General Cigars core brands. We are bringing in another size of the CAO Flathead along with two flavored options- Margaritaville Piña Colada and Solfyre. The Solfyre is a cinnamon infused cigar that will make all the Fireball fans happy. We also were impressed with new CAO pilón. It’s a concept based on the old circular pilón (pile) method of fermentation.

We also decided to add to our Ernesto Perez-Carillo portfolio by picking up the La Historia. This is a cigar that has been creating a lot of buzz and it’s hard to not have cigars from the man who gave the world La Gloria.

If you are a Romeo y Julieta smoker you will soon have another option with the Romeo Anejo. I loved this cigar from the first time I tried it and knew that the price point coupled with the quality of the product would make it a huge hit. Of course we didn’t disappoint our Montecristo fans as we’ve added a limited vintage series that is absolutely delicious. Actually, I will be heading up to the farm where the wrapper for this cigar is grown in Connecticut.  I wanted to take a look up close at this new item from the “ground up.”

It was another great day for our guests as we have added some great new items. Although we have a great time visiting with all of our friends here, in the end it is about selecting products that will make our guests happy. We are confident that we accomplished that mission on Day 3.
