The global authority on color – Pantone, of course – announced the 2016 color combo of the year: Serenity, an ethereal, powdery blue, and Rose Quartz, a soft almost heavenly looking pink.
The color experts at Pantone released their statement this morning: “Weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, Serenity comforts with a calming effect, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times. Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure.”
Rosé wines also had a moment this year. Social elites and celebrities alike ushered in the summer phenomenon in the form of memes, leisurely yacht excursions and Instagram captions (Yes way Rosé).
So here’s ABC’s take on the 2016 color of the year:
Tranquilite Rose is attractive and easy to drink; it’s a fantastic rosé, displaying a beautiful pale color and fruity aromas. Its elegance and freshness make it an ideal aperitif or a perfect companion to meats, grilled fish and fresh goat cheese salads.
It may not be an exact Pantone match, but it will come in handy over holidays dinners when you want to show your guests just how current you are.
