Code Blue Mojito

The kids are back to school and the calendar is moving full speed ahead towards fall. While there’s nothing wrong with pumpkin spice and apple, we’re hanging on to the last bit of summer while we can and summer means rum. From rum punch to rum runners, daiquiris coderum2to hurricanes, rum is found in almost every fruity concoction associated with summer. We just so happen to be partial to the Cuban classic, the mojito. Not only is a mojito light and refreshing on a hot summer day, it’s one of those cocktails that you can switch up and have a delicious twist on a classic!

Which is exactly why you can’t go wrong with this Code Blue Mojito featuring Code Key Lime Rum!  Fruity, yet refreshing–you can’t tell me that blue hue doesn’t have you dreaming of tropical vacations. So instead of being sad that summer is coming to an end, pop a tiny umbrella in your drink and cheers to the last remaining days of summer!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Code Key Lime Rum
  • 3 oz Sprite or 7Up
  • 1 oz Club Soda
  • 1/2 oz Blue Curacao
  • 1 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 7 large Mint Leaves
  • 4 Lime Wedges
  • Ice

Directions:

Place mint and three lime wedges at the bottom of a glass and add sugar. Muddle together until the sugar is dissolved. Add rum, soda and club soda and gently stir. Strain contents into a glass full of ice. Float Blue Curacao on top. Squeeze 1 wedge of lime into the drink and top with lime and a sprig of mint. Enjoy!
