Sunday Sippin’: Manhattan

This simple, classic cocktail is easy to remember: 2 dashes bitters, 1 ounce vermouth, 2 ounces rye whiskey, or 2-1-2, the area code of Manhattan. Served straight up with a cherry in the bottom of the glass, a Manhattan shows off the flavors and body of rye whiskey—the spirit of choice for many people just before Prohibition started.

2 oz Wild Turkey Rye Whiskey
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 oz Sweet Vermouth
1 Cherry

Chill presentation glass by adding ice and setting aside. Add ice to mixing glass. Combine bitters, vermouth and rye whiskey. Stir ingredients with mixing spoon. Discard ice from presentation glass and strain drink into glass. Garnish with cherry.
