Sunday Sippin’: Pineapple Daiquiri

This refreshing tropical standard is closely related to the grog assigned to British sailors from the 1740s on. Our version starts with muddled fresh pineapple and rich, spicy Sailor Jerry rum for a unique twist on the classic.

  • 1 ½ oz Sailor Jerry Rum
  • Fresh lime
  • Fresh pineapple
  • Simple syrup

Chill the Martini glass: fill with ice and set aside.Cut your pineapple into cubes about 1 inch each, and drop 4-5 pieces to bottom of your mixing glass. Muddle thoroughly. Using a jigger to measure, squeeze ¾ oz fresh lime juice and add it, then add ¾ oz simple syrup and 1 ½ oz Sailor Jerry spiced rum.

Fill the glass with ice, cap with your Boston shaker and shake for 20-30 seconds, until the tin is quite cold. Toss the ice out of your nice, cold Martini glass. Pour the daiquiri through a Hawthorne strainer into the glass.
