4 Essential Drinks for the Revival of Will & Grace

There has been a lot of speculation about what the revival of Will & Grace will entail, but tonight that speculation ends. The only thing left to do is plan the drinks, pop the corn, and claim your spot on the couch before 9pm. Because, honey, they’re back.

So to help you with your viewing party,* we’ve compiled a list of drinks, one for each of the core four characters. Let’s start with the obvious.

*There is no minimum number of people needed for a Will & Grace viewing party.

Karen.gifWhat can we say? It’s a classic. Just like Karen. Combine 2 1/2 oz vodka (like this super smooth one), 1/2 oz dry vermouth and 1/2 oz olive brine in a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir and strain into a chilled martini glass. Add as many olives to the bottom of your glass as you can handle.

Jack McFarland.gifThere is nothing conspicuous about the Blue Hawaii, which is why it’s the perfect match for Jack. This one takes a few more ingredients than the Karen’s martini: Combine 1 oz light rum, 1 oz blue Curacao, 2 oz pineapple juice and 1 oz cream of coconut in a blender. Fill with ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into a hurricane glass and garnish with a pineapple slice and a cherry.

Will Truman.gifYea, he can be a little temperamental, but so can Pinot Noir. Try this balanced Pinot from Willamette Valley, Oregon. It shows red fruit flavors with notes of vanilla and black tea. It’ll pair well with any snacks you have set out for the show.

Grace Adler.gifClassic, bubbly and [usually] a delight, Champagne is just the drink you need if you’re channeling Grace. Haton or Moutard are you best bets. Grace would approve.
