The latest addition to our already extensive portfolio of dry rosé wines is the 2015 Bourgogne Rosé from Domaine Gueguen. This 100% Pinot Noir dry rosé wine from Burgundy wowed our wine experts with its freshness, perfect balance and expressive aromas and flavors of cherry, strawberry and peaches lingering on long-lasting finish. This is the best example of Burgundy rosé ever tasted, including the classic rosé wines from Marsannay, and on par with the highest quality rosé wines from Provence and Corsica.
Priced at less than $20, the 2015 Bourgogne Rosé from Domaine Gueguen represents a great value and for that reason has made it in my top 5 list of dry rosés along with Château Trians (Provence), Château de Pibarnon (Bandol), Domaine de Frégate (Bandol) and Domaine Vetriccie (Corsica).
Domaine Gueguen is located in the village of Préhy, just 7 km southwest of Chablis. Céline and Frédéric Gueguen started their winery in 2013; they both had 15 years of experience as winemakers for large and reputable Chablis estates (Maligny and Brocard) before setting up their own business.
With a combined 30 years of experience in winemaking in Chablis and very clear vision of what they wanted to achieve, Céline and Frédéric crafted spectacular wines from day one. Their respect for the terroir and environment combined with careful and precise vinification has resulted in some truly spectacular wines.
