The hills of Tuscany persistently yield some of the most famous bottles of wine in the world. Icons like Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino bursts forth from every vintage, leading the drinker into the indulgent romance of the region. Sangiovese is widely planted here and thrives because of the mild coastal areas that are opposed by interior areas (especially these hills for which the region is so renowned). It’s here that an increase in diurnal temperature helps maintain the balance of sugar, acidity and aromatics in the harvested grapes.
